Cemetery Director

Shawn Buck was selected as Director of the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in October 2018. As Director, he is responsible for the operations and supervision of the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery (NHSVC) encompassing 104 acres in Boscawen, NH. He is responsible for interacting with senior legislators and leaders of state veterans’ organizations. He works directly with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs on all matters concerning the cemetery.

Mr. Buck was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army in May, 1987. His assignments include Fire Direction Officer, 2d Infantry Division (Korea), Platoon Leader and Fire Support Officer, 24th Infantry Division (Fort Stewart, GA and Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm), Battery Commander, 25th Infantry Division (Hawaii), Assistant Professor of Economics at West Point, NY, Market Analyst with US Army Recruiting Command, Professor of Military Science at UCLA, and Chief, Market Research and Analysis with US Army Accessions Command.  He is Airborne, Air Assault and Ranger qualified.  He retired from active duty in July, 2008.

From 2008-2018, Mr. Buck worked as a Director of Operations and Planning, Director of Supply Chain, and Vice President of Operations for two private companies.  He also serves as an Admissions Liaison for the US Military Academy and is a member of the Board of Directors of Family Promise of Greater Concord.

He received a Bachelor’s Degree in economics from the US Military Academy at West Point, NY and a Masters in Business Administration from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL. Mr. Buck and his wife, Diana, reside in Bow, NH. They have three grown children.
